Kathy Kokotis has been involved in vascular access and the creation of PICC teams for thirty years. She has published articles on the cost-effectiveness of vascular access worldwide and the creation of PICC teams. In the past she has served on the board of the Association of Vascular Access as a Director at Large and Treasurer. 

Objectives

- Consider guidelines from GAVeCeLT DAV Expert, MAGIC, and the WoCoVA (ERPIUP) consensus recommendations.

- Review common infusate complications from the manufacturer's instructions for use, Gehart 2021 Intravenous Medications, and clinical studies.

- Discuss how irritants, vesicants, and infusion complications may impact device selection.

- Introduce the Infusion Consideration Companion (ICC)
